Little Man Luke
On the Map
“We had geography class together. This was a class unto itself with a teacher whose sole ability lay in taking a subject about landforms and turning it into the most boring experience a young Jr High student could experience.
Enter our hero. Lucas and I would often chat and exchange books. It became a 2 person book club that ranged from fantasy to sci fi. In fact it was Lucas that turned me onto Issac Asimov novels. It’s also the reason I’m terrible with geography.
This is a memory that I still hold onto, and will never forget.”

Fashionista
“We were in the same kindergarten class and rode the same school bus. I remember Luke wearing a pair of leather shorts to school and they just fascinated me! I’d never seen such shorts before. We smiled at each other across the classroom and I had a huge crush on him! One weekend I wanted to visit him and biked to his house with my dad, but nobody was home. I was so exhausted and disappointed after that bike ride that I collapsed in my yard and thought the world was going to end.
I think we were in the same first grade class, too, and we had a class guinea pig or someone brought their guinea pig. I remember all of us sitting in a circle with our legs stretched out and feet touching with the guinea pig inside the circle. The guinea pig approached Luke and he jumped up, he seemed scared of the little guy!”

“When we were younger we explored the woods behind their field. We learned about Stinging Nettles that day. It takes a few seconds for the burn to set in. His reaction was hilarious, then touching the plant again to verify. Hilarious.”

Fourth Grade
“When were in 4th grade we spent quite a bit of time together. Most of the time I would go to Lucas’ house and we would go out to his awesome tree fort. It always reminded me of Swiss Family Robinson. Lucas was the one that got me into playing hockey. We played on the same team for mini-mites.
As we got older our interests were different but Lucas and I always had a good friendship and great memories from when we were younger.”
